A little more about me
A Journey of Self-Discovery

Born & raised in East Lancashire, a chemical engineer and chartered accountant by profession, for over 20 years I have worked for large corporate firms and a constant over this period has been yoga, my lifeline.

There is a saying "If you cant go outside, go inside". I sought out yoga as a way to reconnect with my body and put the ancient teachings I was learning about into practice.

“Wisdom is knowing I am nothing,
Love is knowing I am everything, and between the two my life moves”

                                                                                                                             — Nisargadatta Maharaj

2017, was the start of my formal yoga journey, soon after I completed a YTTC to be a registered yoga teacher. In March 2020, I qualified and registered with Yoga Alliance Professionals. There is still so much to learn and the seeker in me will continue to explore and navigate. I now teach pregnancy yoga, post natal yoga, mum and baby yoga, childrens yoga and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.

For me, the Yoga I fell in love with is a practice of self-development, self-evolution, self-discovery and self-improvement. A practice that gives me an opportunity to make a difference to my inner and outer world.

A practice that gives me the opportunity to live happily.
It's been my personal secret to contentment.
It's been the antidote to many challenges in my life.

Yoga is only Yoga when it's non-competitive and non-judgemental...
It's allowed me to accept all that I am AND all that I'm not.
It's been my reason to get up at crazy early hours and go to bed before everyone else.

It's given me permission to say "no" to another drink without being shamed for not wanting to take part or being branded a "kill joy" or "boring".
It's calmed me down and picked me up.
In many ways, Yoga has become my identity. It's become my lifestyle.

It's not the solution to every problem in the world but it IS a powerful tool to use when you need help, shelter or inspiration.
Fundamentally, Yoga is connection to ourselves, one another and the universe.

But I wonder... have you asked yourself lately what Yoga REALLY means to you..?

Lancashire born and bred, mother of three, I really enjoy the countryside, going for long walks and getting up-close to nature. This allows me to unwind and focus on enjoying the present moment.

I believe in living a life full of joy, gratitude, and free of judgement. These feelings inform and guide my core teachings and practices, to focus on helping clients better connect to themselves and their surroundings.

Yoga can be different things to different people.  For some it is a system of physical fitness that encompasses aspects of strength and flexibility; for others it is a meditation, an essential antidote to the stress of a busy modern life.  Yoga can be the thing that allows you to get a good night's sleep, or the thing that gets you out of bed in the morning.  Yoga can be the thing that reduces your anxiety, or the thing that lifts you out of a depression.

Yoga can be the thing that takes your mind off your troubles, or the thing that helps you process your issues and alter your life so that the troubles don't keep happening.

The best way of finding out what yoga can be for you is to give it a try.
